About me

I started making videos as soon as I got my hands on an iPad which could shoot and edit videos. I have always been imaginative and creative. I have experimented in many art and storytelling forms, including jewelry making, sculpture, sewing, painting, and music. Through all my experimenting, I have found that my passion for filmmaking as an artistic expression form and as a storytelling medium has never dwindled. 

 

I started my own film company, Pink Pillow Media, when I was 16. In between my junior and senior years of high school, I made The Rescuer, my first film under the company name.

 

A few years ago, I discovered my love of makeup as an art form. I have been keeping records of my makeup art on my public instagram account, @caseyshontzmakeup.

 

Now I am a full-time student at Lamar University. I am currently working on my first independent research project. I have made several film projects at Lamar, which you can see on my Film page under Class projects and Red Beak Productions. One of my main goals in my career and in my live is to increase visibility for marginalized people through representation in entertainment media. As someone who is non-binary and has ADHD, I know the difference positive and accurate representation can make. By combining my storytelling abilities and passion with my desire to improve the lives of others, I hope to make a positive impact.
